Tuscia is a territory rich in historical and artistic sites, all easily reachable from our house: Villa Lante (10 minutes away), the Park of Monsters in Bomarzo (20 minutes away), Palazzo Farnese in Caprarola (20 minutes away), and the famous Civita di Bagnoregio "The Dying City" (30 minutes away). As well as the villages of Vitorchiano, Tuscania, Soriano nel Cimino, and for children, the village of S. Angelo "Fairyland". Viterbo, with its largest and best-preserved medieval old town in Europe (S. Pellegrino and Piano Scarano districts), is 3 km away. Famous for the Palazzo dei Papi, the site of the first conclave in history, it has many other beauties worth a visit: the Lombard cloister of the church of S. Maria della Verità; the sanctuary of S. Rosa, which houses the incorrupt body of the saint and is dedicated to an important festival, with the highlight being the evening of September 3rd, when the "Macchina di S. Rosa" is transported; the ancient fountains carved in peperino, a typical volcanic stone of the area, which adorn every square in the center, to be discovered almost like following a treasure hunt. There are also many natural sites of interest: lakes (Vico and Bolsena), forests (Faggeta Vetusta), and even the sea is easily reachable by going to Tarquinia and visiting one of the most famous Etruscan necropolises. In conclusion, you will definitely not be bored! You can spend days full of places to discover and experiences to try (including culinary ones).
